Along with the six new additions, four Hamadryas baboons and a baby capybara were also welcomed to the zoo in December.

The adult meerkats are long-term residents at the zoo, having called it home for close to a decade.

This is the fourth litter for the meerkats in 2024, suggesting a successful breeding program.

Meerkats are small carnivorans native to the Kalahari Desert in Southern Africa.
