Tasmania Zoo has welcomed a new litter of six meerkat pups this summer.
The Zoo’s experienced meerkat parents gave birth to the new pups shortly before Christmas.

Along with the six new additions, four Hamadryas baboons and a baby capybara were also welcomed to the zoo in December.
The adult meerkats are long-term residents at the zoo, having called it home for close to a decade.
This is the fourth litter for the meerkats in 2024, suggesting a successful breeding program.
Meerkats are small carnivorans native to the Kalahari Desert in Southern Africa.
