Two government grant programs supporting Men’s Sheds across Tasmania have officially opened, delivering funding for community facilities that provide vital social connection for men.
The state government has committed a funding pool including $476,000 for capital investments, with individual sheds able to apply for up to $15,000 in separate grants.
Community Minister Madeleine Ogilvie said Men’s Sheds play an important role in local communities.
“Men’s Sheds are greatly valued throughout Tasmanian communities as a place to connect and share,” Ogilvie said.

The initiative comprises of two distinct funding streams.
The Tasmanian Men’s Shed Association Grants Program 2025-26 will provide up to $15,000 per shed for training, health and wellbeing initiatives, and equipment purchases.

Meanwhile, the Tasmanian Capital Investment Grants Program 2025-26 focuses on infrastructure improvements, with its $476,000 funding pool available to upgrade, renovate, construct or permanently improve physical sheds.
Men’s Sheds provide spaces where men can gather to work on projects, learn new skills and form friendships in a supportive environment.
Applications for both grant programs close on 19 February 2026, with detailed guidelines and application forms available on the Department of Premier and Cabinet’s Community Grants webpage.
