Tasmanian basketball star Jack McVeigh is set to take his talents to the NBA, signing a two-way deal with the Houston Rockets.
The news was confirmed by the JackJumpers on Saturday evening, following days of speculation.
“We received the signed paperwork this morning confirming the above contract,” JackJumpers COO Darren Smith said late on Saturday evening.
“We wish Jack our full support for a successful NBA journey.”
The 28-year-old McVeigh, who’s currently in camp with the Australian Boomers ahead of the Paris Olympics, has been a key player for the JackJumpers since their arrival in the NBL three seasons ago.
A two-way deal means McVeigh could see court time with both the Rockets and their G-League affiliate, the Rio Grande Valley Vipers.
The JackJumpers are expected to announce McVeigh’s replacement in the coming days.
