Tasmanian Tiger statues that had been seen as pedestrian tripping hazards in Launceston’s Brisbane Street Mall will be removed and relocated by the end of this month, according to the City of Launceston.
The decision to move the sculptures was made earlier this year and came about after concerns were raised by councillors over the safety of pedestrians using the mall.

The council are now reportedly working on finding the right, new home for the statues, which had been in the mall since a 2018 redevelopment.
The Tasmanian Tiger statues will be replaced with greenery in approximately six months.
