Tasmania’s Attorney-General has confirmed that a Supreme Court Judge is facing additional charges in another state.
Justice Gregory Geason has been charged with breaching a domestic violence order on three separate occasions and is scheduled to appear in court in Sydney next month.
“Police will allege in court, a 62-year-old Tasmanian man breached an ADVO while in NSW on Monday 20 November, Monday 27 November, and Wednesday 29 November last year,” a New South Wales Police statement said.
“The man is due to appear at the Downing Centre Local Court on Thursday 22 February 2024.”

The additional criminal charges come after Geason was charged with one count of common assault and one count of emotional abuse in Hobart late last year.
“My department secretary has confirmed the charges and that advice has been provided to me early this morning,” Attorney-General Guy Barnett said on Thursday.

“This matter is very important. Justice Gregory Geason has been charged with further offences in New South Wales last year.”
Geason has already provided an undertaking not to sit or act as a judge.
