Tasmania’s tourism industry has once again proven its strength, with 30 gold medals awarded across a range of categories at the 2025 Tasmanian Tourism Awards on Friday night.
Around 500 operators and supporters gathered at Wrest Point in Hobart for the sold-out celebration, recognising outstanding businesses from across the state.
Port Arthur Historic Site retained the major tourist attraction award, while Kuuma Nature Sauna at Margate Marina won the tourism attractions category.
The volunteer-run Bicheno Beams on the East Coast claimed the festivals and events award. Australia’s Wooden Boat Festival took out major festival and events.

Red Rock Hut on King Island, last year’s new tourism business winner, secured gold in the self contained accommodation category. Evry Drive won new tourism business for 2025.
The internationally recognised Tasman, A Luxury Collection Hotel won 5-star luxury accommodation, while wukalina Walk again claimed the aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander tourism experience award.

Tourism Industry Council Tasmania chief executive Amy Hills said the standard of entries was exceptional and reflected a strong future for the industry.
“This year we’ve seen more than 90 finalists representing the diversity of our industry including accommodation, experiences, tour and transport operators, as well as festivals and events,” she said.
Three businesses entered the Hall of Fame after winning their categories three years running: Grain of the Silos, The Dragonfly Inn and The Truffle Farm.
Agritourism pioneers Séverine Demanet and Rodney Dunn of The Agrarian Kitchen received the Tasmanian tourism champion award for their decades of industry contribution.

Sofia Tsamassiros of Eudaimonia Tasmanian Cycling Tours won the tourism minister’s young achiever award.
Party in the Paddock claimed the chair of judges’ award for positive impact tourism for its sustainable festival model.
West Tamar Council received the inaugural local government award for excellence in tourism.
