A family-run oyster farm on Tasmania’s east coast has been named one of the world’s top 10 dining experiences by a prestigious reviewer.

Freycinet Marine Farm was included in the list by Nikki Wallman, a reviewer for The Australian, who said the experience of eating oysters while standing in the water they were just plucked from was “unforgettable”.

“Immersed amid the briny beauty of the landscape, waders and white tablecloth at the ready, you’ll taste the Pacific oysters farmed here, alongside the likes of Kreglinger Brut from Northern Tasmania,” she said.

“Hungry for more? Saffire Freycinet’s new seafood and sparkling experience combines coastal cruising with sustainably-sourced seafood, paired with premium vintages from Tasmania’s Jansz winery.”

“Happy as a clam, you’ll be.”

The farm is located near the Freycinet Peninsula and provides oysters to Saffire Freycinet, a luxury lodge just north of Coles Bay.
