A Tasmanian charity that helps kids facing illness, disability and disadvantage has been left heartbroken after thieves targeted its Rosny Park office over the weekend.
Variety the Children’s Charity say the criminals allegedly broke into their office at around 6pm on Sunday, with a nearby hearing clinic also targeted.
The thieves allegedly smashed the charity’s front glass door, stole cash from the office drawers and emptied the office cupboards.
“We’re obviously extremely disappointed and the timing couldn’t be worse with two of our biggest events of the year coming up this weekend,” CEO Mohammad Aldergham told Pulse.

In a statement to Pulse, a Tasmania Police spokesperson said authorities were called to the scene and conducted examinations on Monday morning.
“Anyone with information about the incident should contact police on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers Tasmania at crimestopperstas.com.au,” they said.
Variety is hoping the community will get behind their two events this weekend to assist them in continuing to help Tasmanian kids.
Their Monster Bookfair is taking place at Princes Wharf No.1 in Hobart from 9am and 4pm on Saturday and Sunday, while the Spin4Kids 5-hour Spinathon is happening from 10am on Saturday at PW1.
