A teenager has been charged over a “targeted” assault on Hobart’s waterfront that left a young man with serious injuries.
Police and emergency services were called to the incident on Morrison Street near Salamanca just after 11pm on Saturday.
The 17-year-old boy accused of the attack was arrested earlier this week and charged with criminal code assault.
Police say the incident involved people known to each other.
The injured 18-year-old sustained “serious, but non-life-threatening injuries”, police said.
The alleged offender has been bailed to appear in the Youth Justice Division of the Hobart Magistrates Court at a later date.
Police are asking anyone with footage or information related to the incident to contact them on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers anonymously.
They are particularly interested in information about an orange SUV that was seen in the area at the time.
