Parts of Tasmania’s north and north-west are on alert for damaging winds as the Bureau of Meteorology predicts gusts of up to 90km/h.
The BOM has issued a severe weather warning for the region, saying north to northeasterly winds will intensify over parts of the state early on Monday morning.

“Northeasterly winds with damaging wind gusts with peak gusts of around 90km/h are possible over coastal parts,” the BOM said.
“Damaging wind gusts are forecast to ease below warning thresholds from early Monday afternoon.”
The BOM says the West Coast towns of Strahan and Zeehan are most likely to be affected.
Both towns are also expecting a warm day on Monday, with temperatures forecast to reach 30 degrees.
