An 18-year-old man has been tracked down by police after allegedly performing destructive stunts on a motorcycle at a Hobart primary school last month.

The teen will be proceeded against for hooning and riding an unregistered motorcycle on Montagu Bay Primary School’s oval in late March, following public outrage when footage of the incident circulated on social media.

Video of the incident shows the rider performing doughnuts and driving in circles across the school grounds, leaving visible damage to the grass surface.

The footage, believed to have been originally posted by the rider himself, prompted angry reactions from community members.

“Police encourage people to continue to report information, dash camera footage and other video footage relating to poor driving behaviour on our roads and public places,” a police spokesperson said.
