Hobart teenager Isabelle Corbin has set the bar for grand entrances to school events by touching down at her Year 12 St Michael’s Collegiate school formal in a helicopter.

The aspiring rescue helicopter pilot and daughter of the late Rotorlift founder Roger Corbin, flew the helicopter to her leavers dinner at Wrest Point with the assistance of her instructor on Tuesday night.

18-year-old Corbin told Pulse it was an honour to combine her piloting experience with her leavers dinner.

“I know Dad would be proud. I want to be a rescue pilot and continue my Dad’s legacy [of] saving so many lives,” she said.

The teenager says she is now working towards becoming a commercial helicopter pilot, before eventually earning the privilege to save lives as a rescue pilot.

“[I’m] following in both my parents footsteps, flying is in my blood.”

Corbin’s father Roger, a highly respected pilot, tragically lost his life in a helicopter accident in 2017.

When she’s not in the air, Izzy Corbin works as a casual Street Fleet employee with Pulse Media Group.
