Teenager accused of stealing over $1,000 worth of items from Hobart businesses

A 13-year-old girl is set to face court next month after being charged with 10 counts of stealing.

Police arrested the teenager on Thursday, alleging she committed offences across Hobart, Sandy Bay, Rosny and Howrah.

The total value of the stolen items exceeds $1,000, police said.

“Police are committed to making sure people feel safe in our community and this includes ensuring our local businesses are supported,” a spokesperson said.

“Community members can help us make our public spaces safer for everyone by reporting illegal and anti-social behaviour to police on 131 444 or Triple Zero (000) in an emergency.”
