Updated 9pm, Monday: A teenage boy is fighting for his life in hospital after he was struck by a vehicle on the Huon Highway this afternoon.
Emergency services responded to the incident at the intersection of the Huon Highway and Mountain River Road in Grove shortly before 3pm on Monday.
Police said the 17-year-old pedestrian was rushed to the Royal Hobart Hospital with serious injuries, where he remains in a critical condition.
Part of the road was closed for several hours while crash investigators examined the scene.
Earlier: One lane of the Huon Highway near Huonville has been closed following a crash involving a pedestrian.

Tasmania Police say the southbound lane is blocked at the intersection of the highway and Mountain River Road.
Traffic is being diverted down Dip Road.
A number of emergency service vehicles are currently at the scene.
Authorities say the pedestrian will be transported to the Royal Hobart Hospital by ambulance.
“At this stage their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening,” police said.
