A summer charity tradition celebrating Tasmanian gin will mark its tenth anniversary when Variety of Gins returns to the Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens on Friday February 20.
The milestone event is promising a roaming soiree of cocktails from three of the state’s best distilleries – McHenry Distillery, Turner Stillhouse and Callington Mill Distillery.
Variety Tasmania CEO Mohammad Aldergham said the anniversary makes this year’s celebration particularly special.
“It is a beautiful way to showcase Tasmanian food and drink to supporting children across our state,” Aldergham said.

The event allows guests to wander through the gardens while enjoying pop-up cocktail bars, gourmet Tasmanian canapés and live music from the Australian Army Band.
William McHenry of McHenry Distillery, who has supported the event since its inception, said he was proud of their decade-long partnership.

“Being part of this event from the very beginning has been an honour,” McHenry said.
Callington Mill Distillery will return for its second year, with General Manager Rizk Mawass creating a special cocktail for attendees.
“We’re looking to create a cocktail called Bramble with the poltergeist gin with lemon and creme de cassis. So, very refreshing gin,” Mawass said.
“The concept is to make people more aware of our brand, at the same time support a good cause.”

All proceeds from the event support Variety’s work helping Tasmanian children facing disadvantage, illness or disability.
Organisers advise early booking, as the event typically sells out, with tickets now available through the Variety Tasmania website.
