Thousands of wine enthusiasts packed the Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens over the weekend for the Tasmanian Wine Festival, with organisers hailing the two-day event as a major success.
The festival, held on February 7 and 8, showcased cool climate wines from producers across the state’s wine regions.
Festival organiser Luke Schlenner said the event continued to exceed expectations.
“The support from vineyards, partners and our guests has been outstanding,” he said.

“It is particularly encouraging to see so many guests travelling here to experience the very best that Tasmania has to offer.”
Visitors from interstate and overseas joined locals to sample wines, local food and live entertainment across multiple sessions.

Pat and Janey from Denver, Colorado, described the experience as “amazing”.
“We’ve been able to experience some of the greatest small batch vineyards ever,” they said. “What an experience.”
Queensland visitor Kate said the cooler climate drew her south.
“We’re from Queensland and it is pretty hot up there at the moment, that’s why we came down here to Tassie,” she said.

“The festival is amazing and experiencing local food and wines is refreshing. Next year, we will come back and bring our friends.”
Roaming performers and main stage acts contributed to what organisers described as an engaging atmosphere throughout the weekend.
One dollar from every ticket sold was donated to Ronald McDonald House Charities Tasmania.
Tickets for the 2027 edition will go on sale later this year.
