Three teenagers under the age of 15 are facing legal consequences for allegedly sharing an explicit video of another teenager online without her consent.
The trio, two boys aged 14 and 15 and a 13-year-old girl, are accused of sharing the video of the 15-year-old girl through social media platform Snapchat.
Detectives from the Northern Family and Sex Crimes Command are investigating the incident.
A spokesperson for Tasmania Police said the trio will be proceeded against under the Youth Justice Act.
“Protecting children is a community effort,” police said.
“If you’re concerned about a child’s safety, you can also reach out to Strong Families Safe Kids.”
“If you have seen inappropriate behaviour online that you suspect is child abuse, report it. If the child is in immediate danger, call 000 [or] report online to the Australian Centre to Counter Child Exploitation (ACCCE).”
