A multi-vehicle crash has blocked two lanes of the Tasman Highway near Macquarie Street in Hobart this morning.
Emergency services rushed to the scene around 11:15am, with multiple police, ambulance and fire units responding to the crash.
Witnesses reported seeing one vehicle facing the wrong direction on the highway, while a ute sustained severe damage in the collision.
A third vehicle had broken down in the same area.

Police officers were directing traffic around the crash site as emergency workers attended to those involved.
The extent of injuries sustained by drivers and passengers remains unclear at this stage.

The morning incident has created major traffic delays, with vehicles backed up along Macquarie Street and into Hobart’s CBD.
