Mandala Hotels and Resorts has taken over the Travelodge Hotel Hobart Airport, rebranding it as Mantra Hobart Airport under a franchise agreement with Accor.
The move marks the company’s second hotel acquisition in just three months.
The 76-room property, located only minutes from Hobart Airport, ended its run under the TFE Hotels banner on November 13.
A soft refurbishment is already underway and is expected to continue through to March 2026.
Mandala Hotels and Resorts Chief Performance Officer Gemma McCourt said the acquisition supports the company’s broader growth ambitions.

“This acquisition reflects our commitment to investing in high-performing regional destinations and delivering elevated guest experiences across Australia,” she said.
The revamped Mantra Hobart Airport will focus on attracting overnight transit guests, airline crews, golf travellers and the coach tour market.
Its arrival follows a year of record passenger numbers and expanding flight routes at Hobart Airport.
Hotel facilities include airport shuttle services, an onsite restaurant and bar, conference rooms and a guest lounge.
The takeover comes on the heels of Mandala’s purchase of Brisbane’s Mercure Clear Mountain in Moreton Bay earlier this year, which will be rebranded under Accor’s Peppers portfolio.
Adrian Williams, Pacific chief operating officer at Accor, said the brand had wrapped up 2025 on a strong note, with Mantra Hobart Airport among seven new properties added in just seven weeks.
“We’ve launched an array of new world-renowned brands into the region, bolstered our development pipeline and championed hospitality’s role in energising cities, regional centres and local communities,” he said.
Mantra Hobart Airport remains the only hotel within the airport precinct.
