The man accused of murdering 14-year-old Tasmanian teenager Shyanne-Lee Tatnell will face trial in February 2026, a Launceston court has heard.
Christopher Mark Jordan, 38, this week appeared via video link in the Supreme Court for his first appearance since being committed to stand trial.
Jordan, from Scottsdale, has pleaded not guilty to the alleged murder.
Crown prosecutor Claire Darvell told the court the trial was expected to be lengthy.
A hearing date of February 13, 2026, has been set.

Shyanne-Lee was last seen near the North Esk River on Launceston’s Henry Street at about 8:30pm on April 30, 2023.
A major search involving more than 160 personnel was carried out across northern Tasmania in the months after her disappearance.
In late July 2023, human remains were found on a bush track near Nabowla.
DNA testing later confirmed they were Shyanne-Lee’s.
Jordan was arrested and charged with murder shortly after the discovery.
He has remained in custody at Risdon Prison since.
