A 23-year-old Tasmanian man who died in a motorbike crash on the East Coast is being remembered as someone who could “walk into a room and instantly lift the mood”.
Hogan Reid was killed when his trail bike crashed on a remote bush track near Chain of Lagoons on Friday afternoon.
Emergency services were called to the Leeaberra Track about 4pm after the rider sustained critical head injuries.
Reid died at the scene despite emergency response efforts.

Police said Reid had been camping nearby with a group of people when he went off alone for a ride on Friday afternoon.
A member of his camping group found him a short time later near the southern end of the track’s intersection with Thompsons Marshes track.

“The crash site was located in difficult-to-access terrain, complicating emergency response efforts,” police said.
Friends have launched a GoFundMe page to support Reid’s family during “this unimaginably painful time”.
The fundraiser describes Reid as someone who was “always fun, always smiling, always finding ways to make people laugh”.
“He was one of those people who could walk into a room and instantly lift the mood,” the fundraiser says.

“His energy was contagious and his kindness left a lasting impression on everyone he met.”
The tribute says Reid made people “feel welcome, valued and included” whether they knew him for years or only a short time.
“He had so much life ahead of him, so many dreams, and so much love still to give,” friends wrote.
The fundraiser aims to help his family with funeral costs and other expenses while they grieve the loss of their “child, sibling and loved one”.
More than $8,000 of a $25,000 target has already been raised.
Police investigations into the crash circumstances are continuing. A report will be prepared for the coroner.
