Tasmania’s TT-Line has announced the appointment of a new chair and five new directors.
Ken Kanofski, a former CEO of NSW Roads and Maritime Services, will lead the board, bringing extensive experience in infrastructure and transport to the role.
Minister for Transport Eric Abetz said TT-Line plays an “integral role” in the state, transporting freight and people to and from Tasmania daily.
“The incoming board will be vital in ensuring the new Spirit vessels are operating in Tasmanian waters as soon as possible,” he said.
“In what is a terrific gain for Tasmania and TT-Line, Mr Kanofski is an outstanding infrastructure expert respected around the nation for his effective work.”
The newly appointed directors are Jill Rossouw, Jane Bennett, Steve Gilmore, Christopher Oldfield and James Atkins. Yvonne Rundle will continue in her role as director.
Abetz also expressed gratitude to Interim Chair Damian Bugg for his leadership since August, noting that he will remain on the board.
“Importantly the new directors bring particular expertise regarding the tourism market at a local and national level and within the caravan and accommodation sector in particular,” he said.
“This vital experience and knowledge will supercharge Tasmania and TT-Line’s efforts to provide a product and service that dovetails effectively with the sector’s needs, bringing new investment and jobs to the state.”
