Two arrested after stolen vehicle sparks police operation south of Hobart

Two people have been arrested after a large-scale police operation that started when a driver allegedly failed to stop for police south of Hobart yesterday.

The incident began when the driver of the reportedly stolen vehicle failed to stop for police near Bonnet Hill around 2pm.

The vehicle then sped off towards Kingston, prompting authorities to launch a search operation with the assistance of the rescue helicopter.

As a result of the operation, a man and a woman were arrested at separate addresses in Kingston on Thursday.

“Significant uniform and specialist resources were used throughout the investigation, which was supported by information provided by the community,” police said.

“Police would like to thank the community for their support and patience throughout the investigation.”
