A St Leonards home in Launceston’s east has been destroyed by fire overnight, with firefighters working late into the night to contain the blaze.
Crews from Launceston and Ravenswood responded to the incident on St Leonards Road around 9:30pm on Wednesday.

The small home was fully engulfed in flames upon their arrival, with the fire brigade estimating the damage to the property as ‘significant’.
Pulse understands the home was vacant at the time of the fire.
A separate fire broke out at a home on Anear Court in Lutana overnight, gutting the home in Hobart’s northern suburbs.
Investigations into the cause of both blazes are continuing.
