Two men accused of the manslaughter of a 66-year-old man who died after an alleged assault in the Hobart CBD have appeared in court.
31-year-old Jack Dean Grant and 20-year-old Ryan Lindsay Matthews faced the Hobart Magistrates Court on Friday morning.
Both men were remanded in custody until February. Neither entered a plea, with their lawyers requesting adjournments.
Police allege the pair assaulted Ian Cousens in the Elizabeth Street Mall about 9pm on Tuesday, knocking him to the ground.
Cousens, a disability pensioner, later died from injuries sustained in the incident.

Tasmania Police charged the two men on Thursday night.
Detective Inspector David Gill at the time described the incident as unacceptable.
“Everyone has the right to be safe in our public places and no act of violence will be tolerated,” he said.
Police previously said several bystanders, including a “good Samaritan”, assisted Cousens at the scene.
