An underground miner has died during his shift at a West Coast mine this morning.
Avebury Mine general manager John Lamb confirmed the death at the mine near Zeehan to The Advocate on Thursday morning.

Lamb said the miner’s death on site was determined to be from non work-related causes at 2.30am.
“The employee had been with Avebury Mine since May this year and was a well loved and respected member of our team,” Lamb said.
Avebury Mine has extended its deepest condolences to the worker’s family, friends and the entire Avebury team.
Underground operations at the mine have temporarily ceased and all employees are being provided with support services.
The Avebury Mine is located around 7km south-west of Zeehan.
