Public toilets at Valentine Park in Campbell Town have been closed indefinitely following an act of vandalism that has the local council frustrated.

The Northern Midlands Council announced the closure on Wednesday, describing the damage as “senseless” and disappointing for the community.

“This act of destruction not only damages public property but also disrespects the community spaces we all share and enjoy,” a council spokesperson said.

Repair works are now underway at the popular rest stop, though no timeline has been provided for when the toilets will reopen.
