Police have located the vessel involved in a fatal boating incident off Robbins Island in Tasmania’s north-west last weekend.
The boat will be examined as part of a coronial investigation into the death of a 36-year-old man, whose body was found on the island’s eastern shore on Monday morning.
The vessel left the Montagu campground boat ramp on Saturday evening, carrying three adults and a six-year-old child on a fishing trip.
About 9pm, the boat got into difficulty and all four occupants were thrown into the water. The boat is understood to have sunk.
A 27-year-old woman, a 33-year-old man and the child were found together on Big Stony Island on Sunday afternoon.

All three were wearing life jackets and were not physically injured.
“Extensive searches of the area have been conducted and as a result police have since located the fishing vessel,” police confirmed on Thursday afternoon.
“The vessel will be examined as part of the coronial investigation.”
Police said anyone with information should contact them on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers anonymously.
“Our thoughts remain with the family and loved ones of those affected,” a spokesperson said.

“A report will be prepared for the coroner, who will determine the circumstances surrounding the man’s death.”
Police previously said the man was not wearing a life jacket at the time he was found.
