The Fashion Thrift Society market has returned to Hobart for a second year this weekend, drawing thousands of fashion enthusiasts to Swisherr on Melville Street.

The event, which is held across 32 cities in Australia, New Zealand and England, has grown into one of the country’s biggest fashion events.

Over 5,500 people attended last year’s event in Hobart, while organisers say they’ve been blown away by the crowd this year.

Today’s event featured 75 vendors selling a diverse range of premium vintage and pre-loved clothing, local brands, jewellery, accessories, shoes, art and baked goods.

Organisers said there was “something for everyone” with an even split between Tasmania’s best closets and up-and-coming clothing talent.

A live DJ and food trucks were part of the experience, alongside free tattoos, nail art, manicures, hair braiding and barber cuts.
