In an effort to boost winter visitation to Tasmania, Virgin Australia has released thousands of sale fares from five major Australian cities into Launceston and Hobart for the upcoming shoulder seasons.
Backed by Tourism Tasmania, the flight sale starting at $39 is said to be one of the largest for Tasmania, offering guaranteed discounts on a significant number of seats exclusively during the winter period.
“In an increasingly competitive holiday marketplace, our airline partners are vital to ensure affordable access for visitors and Tasmanians and support our tourism industry year-round,” Tourism Tasmania CEO Sarah Clark said.
“We know that winter is Tasmania’s best kept secret. The air is fresher, the oysters taste sweeter and the whisky feels warmer.”
The airline’s Lite fares will begin at $39 for select travel dates between Melbourne and Launceston from the end of April to December.
Fares between Sydney and Launceston begin at $49, with $65 tickets available between Melbourne and Sydney and Hobart.
Brisbane to Launceston flights begins at $85 and Brisbane to Hobart from $99. One way flights between Perth and Hobart are up for grabs from $175.
