A shark has been spotted along the Bicheno waterfront this afternoon, marking the second sighting in the area in recent days.
Authorities have issued a warning to swimmers and people considering venturing into the water to be aware of a two and a half metre long shark.
Police have reported that the shark was sighted near the Sealife Centre in Bicheno on Wednesday afternoon.
A similar sighting was reported at the nearby Bicheno marina around Governor Island last Friday.
It is yet to be confirmed whether the shark is the same one observed previously.
Shark sightings are not uncommon in Tasmanian waters, with the state home to a diverse range of marine life and several species of sharks.
Anyone with additional shark sightings should report them to police on 131 444.
