Firefighters have rushed to contain a bushfire which broke out on Bruny Island, south of Hobart, today.
The TFS say a waterbombing helicopter is fighting the Barnes Bay fire from above, while local volunteer ground crews assemble on the scene.

The fire was reported around 11:30am, with wind gusts over 70km/h recorded in the area not helping the situation.
No threat is being posed to the community, but those in the area are urged to monitor conditions, according to the TFS.
