A Hillwood grandfather is celebrating a life-changing $2.2 million win after his wife’s intuition prompted him to check his TattsLotto ticket.
The Launceston man held one of nine division one winning entries in TattsLotto draw 4583, drawn Saturday 21 June 2025, claiming exactly $2,222,222.23.
“My wife heard on Monday that Mowbray newsXpress and Lotto had sold two division one winning entries over the weekend and one of them was yet to be claimed,” the winner explained.
“She came home to me and asked, ‘Did you get a ticket at Mowbray? You should probably go get it checked!'”
The unregistered winning ticket meant lottery officials couldn’t contact the winner directly, leaving them anxiously waiting for someone to come forward.

“I thought, ‘Crumbs! I should probably check this!’ So, I dropped everything and had to find out right then and there,” he said.
The grandfather already has plans for his windfall, with a career change topping the list.
“I currently work a really, really stressful job, and I’m not enjoying it. This will allow me to change jobs completely without the stress,” he said.
Other plans include paying off his house, buying a new ute, investing wisely and helping his children and grandchildren.

Mowbray newsXpress and Lotto owner Sourav Kumar said he was thrilled to have sold two division one winning entries in the same draw.
“We’re very excited and so happy to hear our mystery winner has now come forward to claim their prize,” Kumar said.
The win continues a lucky streak for Kumar’s businesses, which have sold division one winning entries at two of his other newsagencies in recent months.
The winning numbers in TattsLotto draw 4583 were 6, 24, 10, 42, 1 and 30, with supplementary numbers 18 and 16.
