A Burnie woman is facing multiple charges after police uncovered a significant quantity of illegal drugs during a targeted search of her home.

The 28-year-old from the suburb of Montello was arrested on Wednesday following a raid on a Medbury Crescent property conducted by Western Drugs and Firearms officers, Taskforce Scelus and the Dog Handler Unit.

Police executed a search warrant at approximately 1pm, seizing about 130 grams of methylamphetamine along with unlawful prescription medication, cannabis and cash.

The woman has been charged with several offences including trafficking in a controlled substance, dealing in property suspected of being proceeds of crime and selling a controlled drug.

She was granted bail and is scheduled to appear in Burnie Magistrates Court in June.

Police say the operation forms part of their ongoing efforts to disrupt drug distribution networks operating in the state.

“Police will continue to target and hold to account those involved in the distribution of illicit drugs within the community,” a police spokesperson said.

Authorities have urged members of the public to report any information about illicit drug possession and distribution.
