A woman caught driving drunk at more than five times the legal limit on Christmas Day has been banned from the road for a year.
The 44-year-old from Newstead was pulled over by police in the Launceston suburb around 7:30pm on December 25.

A breath test revealed the woman had a blood alcohol reading of 0.252, leading to charges for drink driving offences.
She will appear in the Launceston Magistrates Court at a later date and has been disqualified from driving for 12 months.
