A 41-year-old woman has been charged almost a year on from a crash that killed a 12-year-old boy outside a Glenorchy school.
Following an “extensive” investigation, police have confirmed the woman is facing charges of causing death by negligent driving and driving without due care and attention.

The incident occurred shortly after 3pm near Cosgrove High School on Main Road in Glenorchy on April 5, 2024.
Police and emergency services rushed to the scene, but despite their efforts, the young boy died at the scene.

Police at the time said the driver of the vehicle involved was taken to the Royal Hobart Hospital for mandatory blood testing.
The woman will appear in the Hobart Magistrates Court in May.
