A woman accused of stealing a car and crashing it in Launceston’s CBD will spend at least another three weeks in custody.
Amanda Maree Phillips, 33, from Cornwall, faced the Launceston Magistrates Court on Thursday over the alleged incident.
She has been charged with carjacking, dangerous driving and evading police.
Police were called to Wellington Street about 2:10pm on Tuesday after reports that a woman had taken a car.
Authorities say she then drove recklessly through the city before crashing near Frederick Street.

After the collision, Phillips allegedly tried to flee the scene but was arrested shortly afterwards. No one was injured in the incident.
Phillips appeared in court on Thursday afternoon and did not apply for bail.
The magistrate adjourned the matter until December 3 and remanded Phillips in custody.
