Woman with knife arrested over Glenorchy servo robbery attempt

A woman has been charged with attempted armed robbery after an incident at a Glenorchy service station last night.

The 48-year-old from Branxholm is alleged to have approached the Ampol on Main Road at 8:20pm on Friday while armed with a knife.

Police said the woman walked across the forecourt and confronted another woman while making threats to harm her.

The victim was not physically injured in the incident, police said, adding the pair are unknown to each other.

The woman is scheduled to appear in an out-of-hours court today.
