A 21-year-old East Devonport man has been charged with common assault after allegedly attacking another man in the town’s CBD overnight.
Police say the incident happened on Rooke Street just after midnight on Saturday, leaving the victim with serious injuries.

The injured man, also 21, was taken to the Launceston General Hospital for treatment.
His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening, police said.
The alleged attacker has been released on bail and will face the Devonport Magistrates Court at a later date.
Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward with any information.
