A young man has been rushed to hospital with serious injuries following an incident at Launceston’s Cataract Basin.
Police and paramedics were called to the swimming spot just before 5pm on Friday after reports the man had been hurt while diving in.

A Tasmania Police spokesperson praised community members who witnessed the incident and came to the man’s aid.
They said authorities were “extremely appreciative” of their help.
The man in his 20s was taken to the Launceston General Hospital and is reported to be in a stable condition.
The nature of his injuries are unknown at this stage.
