A vehicle has been clamped for a month following a weekday crime crackdown on Hobart’s eastern shore.
The car was seized as part of a planned police operation targeting anti-social behaviour on Friday, which also led to the arrest of a young person for disorderly conduct.
Inspector Andrew Keane from Bellerive Police said the driver was detected during the operation, which involved a large number of police officers.
“This type of behaviour is unacceptable in our communities. It is fortunate that no one was injured,” he said.
“A number of other traffic charges are expected to be laid and vehicles confiscated.”
The operation also resulted in 93 roadside breath tests being conducted across five locations, the towing of two vehicles and the detection of a person driving with false plates and a positive drug test.
Four infringement notices were also issued and one person will be summonsed to appear in the Hobart Magistrates Court for allegedly disobeying the direction of a police officer.
“Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 131444 or provide information to Crime Stoppers,” Keane said.
