Youths caught after alcohol theft and car crash in Launceston

Three youths have been arrested and charged following an alleged alcohol theft and subsequent vehicle collision in Launceston.

The trio allegedly stole approximately $370 worth of alcohol from BWS Prospect Vale on Saturday before fleeing the scene in a stolen gold Toyota Avalon.

Police investigations led to the recovery of the vehicle in Kings Meadows after it collided with a parked car, with the young offenders apprehended nearby without incident.

Tasmania Police confirmed the stolen alcohol was recovered and returned to the store, while the vehicle was seized.

No injuries were reported as a result of the crash.

“Anyone with information or footage of this vehicle is asked to contact police on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or at crimestopperstas.com.au,” a Tasmania Police spokesperson said.

Police have asked people to reference case number 000222-27092025.
