Thunderstorms, hail and heavy rainfall are all possible across much of Tasmania’s north this afternoon, as a severe weather front moves across the state.
The North and North East areas, including Launceston, are expected to be impacted early on Wednesday afternoon.
“Thunderstorms and a chance of hail are predicted from about 2pm until the late evening on Wednesday, with up to 30ml of rain possible in some areas which has potential for flash flooding and hazardous driving conditions,” the State Emergency Service warn.
“People camping in the areas identified should proactively prepare their campsites. Please be prepared and keep informed of changing conditions.”

“Tasmania SES is preparing for the weather, and we encourage the community to do the same.”
The Bureau of Meteorology are yet to issue any sever weather or thunderstorm warnings.
