Today marks 10 years since a devastating bushfire swept through the Tasman Peninsula near the town of Dunalley.
More than half of the many homes, businesses, and public buildings in Dunalley were completely destroyed in the blaze, but fortunately no lives were lost as a direct result of the fire.
It took firefighters from brigades all over Tasmania, Victoria, New South Wales and New Zealand close to three weeks to bring the fire under control.
The Insurance Council of Australia estimated the preliminary damage from the fires at $89 million.
