An unlicensed teenager from Huon Valley who allegedly sped away from the police on three separate occasions at high speeds is now facing charges.
The 17-year-old male was driving a black Toyota Celica with counterfeit plates when he managed to evade officers multiple times in Huonville and Franklin over the past two weeks, police say.
The teen racked up multiple speeding tickets, including two for driving at 148km/h and 157km/h in a 100km/h zone and two for racing past speed cameras at 94km/h in an 80km/h zone and 114km/h in a 100km/h zone.
Police say the car, which has been impounded for 9 months, had been displaying various plates, including B83MH and DG5398, during the incidents.
The teenager is set to appear in the Hobart Magistrates Court at a later date to face charges of 5x unlicensed driving and 3x evading the police.
