A 17-year-old girl has been charged over what is alleged to be a serious assault that left a man in the hospital with injuries.
Reportedly armed with a knife, the teenager approached the 38-year-old victim on Macquarie Street just before 9pm on Saturday.

Police say the incident unfolded following a “verbal altercation” between the two, resulting in the man sustaining injuries to his torso.
“It is an offence to carry dangerous articles, including knives, in public unless people have a lawful reason to do so,” police said.
“The teenager will appear in out of hours youth court this evening.”
