An altercation in the early hours of this morning has left a 50-year-old man with a stab wound to the face in Northern Tasmania today.
According to Tasmania Police, the incident took place on Collins Street in Waratah and involved an 18-year-old man known to the victim.
They say the victim was quickly transported to the North West Regional Hospital with non life-threatening injuries for treatment and was released later in the morning.
“Police remained at the scene for several hours while forensic examinations were conducted. The scene has now been cleared.”
An 18-year-old man has been charged with wounding and will appear in the Burnie Magistrates Court on 16 May.
