After allegedly stealing more than 20 new chainsaws worth of $30,000 from a Hobart store in July, two men have been charged.
A 40-year-old Ravenswood man and a 36-year-old Gagebrook man are believed to have broken into McDougalls Power Equipment on Brisbane Street in the early hours of Friday July 1.

The pair, described as “pleasant individuals” by McDougalls at the time, smashed multiple windows to gain entry to the building.
Police say while some of the stolen chainsaws have since been recovered, a significant number remain outstanding.
The various models of Husqvarna Chainsaws are believed to have been on-sold at a discounted price and anyone who may have purchased one is asked to contact police.
