A Hobart business has been robbed of 20 brand new chainsaws after thieves broke in on Friday night.
Police say the windows of the McDougalls Power Equipment building on Brisbane Street were left smashed following the incident, which saw the thieves get away with around 20 chainsaws.
“Police are following a specific line of inquiry as the investigation into the burglary of a Hobart business overnight Friday 30 June to Saturday 1 July continues,” a spokesperson said.
McDougalls called the thieves “pleasant individuals” and said all of the chainsaws stolen had recorded serial numbers.
“Please let us or the police know if you see any cheap chainsaws for sale,” they wrote.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Hobart CIB on 131 444.
