A Tasmanian man has been charged after he allegedly spent his weekend stealing 26 computers, iPhones, specialist engineering equipment, tools, furniture and a car from a building on Macquarie Street.
The 29-year-old is believed to have “unlawfully entered” the Hobart CBD building late on Friday night, where he made off with a ‘substantial amount of property and electronic items’.
He is also accused of breaking into a shed at a property in Kingston shortly after 1pm on Saturday.
The man has been charged with multiple offences, including burglary, stealing, trespassing, breach of bail, driving while disqualified, threatening police and resisting police.
Police say officers carried out a search of a Kingston property “linked to the man” where they successfully retrieved many of the stolen items.
He is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
